Braces for Teens & Kids
The most common time that many of us will opt for orthodontic treatment is during our teenage years, specifically between the ages of 11-16. The main reason is that most of us will have the majority of our permanent teeth by this age. It's also much easier to detect potential issues such as crowding, crooked teeth and possible gaps.
An additional benefit of braces at this age is how rapidly your body is growing, making for a much quicker treatment time. Here at Seapoint Clinic we have a wide range of treatments readily available to get your teenager smiling again - including Teen Invisalign, see-through and conventional braces. So just what is orthodontic treatment and how does it all work?
Basically orthodontics focuses on the movement of teeth and jaws that are incorrectly positioned. As crooked and crowded teeth are at higher risk of being lost due to decay and increased pressure on your jaw, orthodontic treatment relieves that pressure by carefully and gently moving your teeth into their proper position, making for a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing smile.

Teen Invisalign
Teen Invisalign uses clear customised aligners which are removable, meaning you can eat, drink and brush your teeth as normal throughout your Invisalign treatment. Most Invisalign cases take about a year to complete but may be completed faster where fewer movements are required. As they are clear, it also means they are near invisible to the naked eye unless viewed up close making them the ideal treatment for anyone looking to discreetly straighten their teeth.
Teen Conventional Braces
Among our most popular forms of orthodontic treatments are fixed braces. Sometimes referred to as 'train tracks', they are a tried and tested way to finely-tune your teeth. Unlike years gone by, fixed braces are no longer bulky metal eye sores! Instead, sleeker and sophisticated designs mean treatment can be completed in a shorter period of time when compared to alternative treatments. You can even opt for clear ceramic brackets meaning most people won't even notice you're wearing braces.
