Bonding
Bonding involves placing a tooth-coloured composite resin to help repair decay, chipped or fractured teeth. Unlike porcelain veneers, dental bonding can be done in a single visit. Many people ask as to why it's called bonding, simply put it's because the material is bonded to the tooth. It's that simple!
Bonding is remarkably straightforward and the least expensive cosmetic option. As the composite resin is bonded, shaped and polished to match the colour of your natural teeth, it means there's no prep required. Dental bonding is quite often used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a discoloured or chipped tooth. It can also be used to close spaces between teeth or help make teeth look longer.
In some cases, bonding is used as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings, or in order to protect a portion of the tooth’s root that has been exposed when gums start to recede.
