Invisalign v Braces

Most people tend to opt for orthodontic treatment during their teenage years, but that's not to say you can't have braces as an adult. In fact, more and more people are now deciding to have braces well into their 60s! The reason being that thanks to advancements made in modern dental techniques and technologies, it's easier and more affordable than ever before to get a healthy, happy smile. So, what options are available to you?
Invisalign
Invisalign uses a clever system of clear, custom-fitted aligners which reposition your teeth into their ideal area. As they are completely see-through, the vast majority of people won't even know you're having treatment! What's even better, as they are completely removable you can continue to eat and brush your teeth as normal throughout the course of your treatment. On average, treatment takes about a year to complete but can go faster where fewer movements are required. It's the ideal treatment for people who may have previously worn braces as a child and suffered some form of orthodontic relapse since.
Fixed Braces
Fixed braces are the most common type of orthodontic braces. Often referred to as ‘train tracks’, the advantages are that they are able to fine-tune the position of the teeth reliably and with modern sophisticated designs they are smaller and relatively fast acting to reduce treatment time. This will enable you to achieve that great smile in a shorter space of time. You can opt for clear ceramic brackets for a more aesthetically pleasing smile. In some cases, you may even be able to opt for Six Month Braces, which focus solely on your front teeth meaning results are purely for cosmetic purposes as we don't alter your bite.
