Implants: Your Questions Answered
What is a Dental Implant?
Essentially, a dental implant is a 'root' made of titanium and used to support a crown, which acts and resembles your own natural teeth.
How Does a Dental Implant Work?
Once a dental implant is placed in the jaw, it osseointegrates allowing it to act just like a real tooth. The osseointegration occurs when the implant is accepted by the jaw and fuses with the surrounding bone. Once the dental implant fuses with the bone, you won't feel or notice any difference to your own teeth.
Will It Hurt?
Not in the slightest. We carry out dental implants under sedation, meaning you won't feel a thing and quite often patients will sleep throughout the entirety of the procedure.
How Do I Clean Them?
As they look and act just as your own natural teeth, you can clean them as such! Simply brush them, it really is that straightforward.
Treatment from start to finish was absolutely superb and very professional, I can't recommend them highly enough.

How Long Is Treatment?
This can depend on your own bone type and general healing, as each patient is different. On average, you can usually expect to have your final teeth in about 3-5 months. In some circumstances it may take longer if we need to grow bone, but your dentist will be able to give you a timeline of treatment following your initial consultation.
Where Will Treatment Take Place?
The reason why so many people choose to have treatment at Seapoint Clinic is because we can perform everything under the one roof. From our own on-site laboratory, CT scanner and Digital Smile Design Studio - there's no reason to travel elsewhere for treatment!
