Brush your teeth and burn some calories!

We're not saying that everyone will be beach-ready in a few weeks just by brushing, but this little daily activity does actually result in real calorie burning. Many dentists would say that if you brush your teeth for more than two minutes, then you will burn up to six calories. Depending on the amount of times you brush your teeth on a daily basis, you could be burning an extra 20 calories a day!
To increase the amount of calories you burn, try doing some simple exercises whilst brushing your teeth such as basic calf stretches or even do the sitting squat against a wall (great exercise for toning the legs and burning calories). Who needs the gym to get into shape, when you can just use your bathroom!?
To add extra arm toning and calorie-burning, and for a great smile, we also recommend you floss twice daily. Flossing is a highly underrated process, but in our eyes it is just as important, if not more important than brushing your teeth. This is due to the food particles which get stuck between your teeth and start to attract bacteria and a build-up of plaque. Flossing gets rid of these tiny bits of food that you cannot see. And as an added bonus, it can be a great arm work out too!
As you can see, simple activities such as brushing your teeth will burn calories- it might not burn off very many but it is still more than what you will burn off if you don’t do it.
In summary as the summer is now finally looking like it may be on its way, to add to a pearly white smile you can also have the body to go with it, by simply brushing your teeth two to three times daily! So next time you are brushing your teeth, remember the various exercises mentioned above and start burning those extra calories!
