Braces for Your Teenager
Most people opt to get orthodontic treatment during their teenage years. This is because most people will already have the majority of their permanent teeth by age 11. It also makes detecting any potential future issues including crooked teeth or bad bites far easier, making treatment much more straightforward and quicker.
As our body is still growing at this young age, it allows an orthodontist to take full advantage of these growth spurts, correcting any issues with your overall bite. Treatment time is much shorter during your teenage years as well, drastically decreasing any sensation of discomfort. As dental technology is continuing to improve, it also means that braces are no longer bulky or uncomfortable, with a wide range of treatment options available including Invisalign, traditional and see-through braces.
Invisalign
Invisalign treatment takes roughly one year to complete, but can go quicker where fewer movements are necessary. Invisalign is becoming increasingly popular with clients of all ages, as their custom-fitted clear aligners mean that we can realign your teeth without anyone even knowing you're having treatment. They are also easily removable, meaning you can eat all the foods and drinks you like, as well as brushing your teeth as normal throughout the entirety of your treatment.
Fixed Braces
One of our most popular forms of orthodontic treatment, fixed braces are also commonly known as 'train tracks'. Unlike years gone by, modern technology means that these braces are far more sophisticated and smaller, as well as being strong. Their strength means that treatment can be completed in a much quicker time and you even have the option of clear ceramic brackets, to make them blend in with your natural teeth.
